Summer Term

Welcome back, we hope you all had a fun and relaxing Easter break.

This term we will be finding out about animals, from scary beasts in the zoo, tiny minibeasts hiding in our garden, dinosaurs, water creatures and farm animals.

We will be exploring our school grounds as well as venturing further afield. We will be visiting our local library and also look forward to a farm coming to school to meet us too!

This term we will be continuing to help your child understand and become comfortable with changes that will occur in September, spending lots of time talking about change and visiting our friends in Reception for a play.

Fingers crossed that Summer will make a reappearance, when it does, please make sure your child has a sunhat and if necessary a named bottle of sunscreen so we can help them apply it if needed. We will make sure we provide water throughout the day to ensure all the children in Maple Class are adequately hydrated on hot days.

As always, our door is always open should you have any comments, concerns or queries.

Best wishes

Mrs Ford, Ms Morris, Miss Burge, Mrs Bird and Mrs King

World Book Day

Maple Class celebrated World Book Day by dressing as our favourite characters from stories we love. Thank you to all parents and carers for working so hard to make your children look so fabulous on the day.

We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Lyndsey Gilbey who runs singing and music sessions. We all loved joining in with the rhymes, stories and songs!

Happy New Year to all parents and children in Maple Class.

We hope you have had a peaceful and Happy Christmas and New Year.

This half term we are learning about people that help us.

We are getting really fit this term!

We need lots of exercise to grow big and strong. If we can make our bodies strong with really big (gross motor) movements, we will be even better writers when we get older (fine motor)

We see Mr White every week, and play lots of fun games to help us.

After half term we're looking forward to meeting Lorna who will teach us all about Playball too,
